ÖKOPROFIT®

ÖKOPROFIT®-Projects

ÖKOPROFIT® (ÖKOlogisches PROjekt Für Integrierte UmweltTechnik) is a municipal programme for sustainable economic development. It was developed in Graz in 1991 and has been established in many German municipalities since its first implementation in Munich in 1998.

The programme is based on a public-private partnership (PPP) model that integrates economic, environmental and social aspects. The aim is to achieve both economic and environmental benefits through the development of integrated environmental technologies and adherence to sustainability principles.

The award confirms the successful introduction of this pragmatic environmental management system.
ÖKOPROFIT® is recognised as a preliminary stage to EMAS
